Welcome back to school! We hope you had a restful Spring Break! Thank you to the students and families who attended the Student Led with Parent/Teacher Conferences. It was great to celebrate your hard work and achievement with your families.

We have been busy beginning our Science inquiry into evidence and investigation. Share with a family member what you think you know about evidence and investigation, and the questions you have. How can we find answers to these questions?




Community Bottle Drive
On Saturday April 5th, Vista Heights School Council will be holding a bottle drive.
Location:  Vista Heights School – Parking Lot
Time:  9:00 am-12:00 pm
-Please volunteer your time to help raise money for school events and activities. 
-If you are unable to volunteer please bring your bottles to the school during this time. 
-If you would like to donate your bottles, but are unable to transport them, we will give you a number to call
*This is a School Council Activity.  Parents must attend with their children; the school staff is not responsible for this activity.
An adult must be present to pick-up bottles from homes and/or present to give permission for their child to ride in another parent’s vehicle.  Parents with trucks are especially needed!
Please save your bottles and cans for April 5th!

Thank you to the grade 3 and 4 students for running our March Assembly today! It was wonderful to see your hard work and learning. Share with a family member our school's celebration of learning, and the amazing work the students from our school have been doing!

Great job today working on your Wellness art projects! Explain to a family member the art technique you used for these projects. What symbol did you choose to represent wellness? Why did you choose this symbol? How do the words you used connect to wellness?

Thank you for another wonderful week of learning LOL's! We are so proud of the work you have been doing on your Wellness Inquiry Projects, and are looking forward to sharing your hard work with the school next week. Think about what you need to complete your project, and reflect on how you will plan your week to complete your project.

Do you know the virtue for the month of March? It's honesty! Think about how you demonstrate honesty at school during class and at recess. Why is honesty important? Can you think of how honesty connects to our other virtues? Be prepared to share your ideas with the class tomorrow.

We have been learning more about the characters Lina and Doon and their adventure in our class read aloud, The People of Sparks. Think about connections you can make to the plot and characters in this book. Does Doon or Lina's characters remind you of anyone you know? How are they the same? How are they different? Be prepared to share in class tomorrow.

We are still missing some Alberta Ballet Acknowledgement of Risk forms! Please have your parents sign, and return it to school.

Excellent job working on your Wellness Inquiry Projects today! We are excited to share the fabulous projects you have been creating at our Wellness Expo. Share with a family member your inquiry project, and which technology tools you are using to share your learning. Reflect on a goal you have for your project, and your plans for next class.

Great job inline skating today! We will be inline skating all week. Remember, our classes begin inline skating at 8:50, so be sure to arrive at school on time! Share with a family member what you learned about staying safe while inline skating.

Welcome back to Vista Heights after our two amazing weeks at Healthy Living School!  Begin to reflect on your Wellness Project, and how you will be representing all your fabulous learning from this experience.

Share with a family member our Best Part of Healthy Living School thank you project, and how you are using personification, similes and metaphors in your poetry.
