Fabulous work writing your stories today! What are the four ways to include a great ending to your story? Share with a family member the techniques we learned today. Take a look at some of the books you have read. Did the author include a great ending?


Reminder:
We are going to Fish Creek Park tomorrow! Please remember the following:
- arrive to school on time
- pack a lunch - we will not have access to hot water or a microwave
- bring a water bottle
- extra snacks
- dress appropriately for the weather
- comfortable shoes - we will be walking in the trees (uneven, and could be muddy or wet)

We have been working on our narrative writing skills! Share with a family member what you have learned about terrific beginnings, how you can organize your stories, what great stories include and how you will be applying these into your stories.

Reminder:
- We are going to Fish Creek Park on Thursday May 1! Students who have not yet returned the Acknowledgment of Risk form, please return to the school tomorrow. We are still looking for volunteers! Please contact Ms. Makowski or Mrs. Calvert if a you are available to join us.

We began our investigation into Trees, Forests and Wetlands today! Excellent job designing questions and participating in our online D2L discussion. Ask a family member the question you created, do they know the answer?

- April Step Inside Book Reviews are due Wednesday, April 30.

- Sports Club will be using the shale diamond beside our school field in the upcoming weeks! Students in Sports Club, please tell your parents we will be using this space. If your parents have questions or concerns, please have them contact Ms. Makowski or Mrs. Calvert.

April is Earth Month! You did an amazing job today creating your eco-reporting skits! Share with a family member how your skit represented environmental citizenship, the rubric we created for your assessment, and your role in your group's play.

Grade 6 Quilt Project - Complete Task 1 by designing your quilt square.  Please check D2L for assignment expectations and assessment rubric.

Welcome back LOL's! We have finished our Evidence and Investigation science unit.  Please share with a family member which type of evidence you think can have the most impact in an investigation. Be sure to say why.  Our final two science units for this year are Trees and Forests and Wetlands.  Start thinking about what you know already about these two topics and any questions that you might have.

Homework:
Read for your Step-Inside Book Review.  It is due the last day of April. Be sure to check D2L for the assignment expectations and assessment criteria.
